TRON Account Permission Security in OKX Wallet

OKX Wallet gives you full self-custody of your TRON keys, but like any self-custody wallet, it won't warn you if the account's on-chain permissions were quietly reassigned.

Self-custody protects the key, not the permission

OKX Wallet never has access to your private key, which protects against exchange-side custodial risk. It has no bearing on whether the TRON account itself still trusts only that key — permission hijacks happen through a separate on-chain call, AccountPermissionUpdate, that a wallet's balance view won't surface.

Where this matters most

If you imported an account into OKX Wallet from a seed phrase you didn't generate yourself, or approved a signature request from an unfamiliar dApp, the account's Owner or Active permission may already include a key you don't control — while OKX Wallet keeps showing your balance normally.

How to actually check

Paste the TRON address from OKX Wallet into a dedicated permission checker to see the account's real Owner/Active key structure and signing threshold, rather than relying on the absence of any warning inside the app.
