What TRON Power Actually Is
TRON Power sounds like it might relate to account control, but it's really about staking and governance — a separate system from the permissions this site checks.
Where it comes from
Freezing (staking) TRX generates TRON Power proportional to the amount staked. This TRON Power is what lets an account vote for Super Representatives — the entities that validate transactions and produce blocks on the network.
What it's used for
TRON Power is a governance and resource mechanism: staking TRX also generates Bandwidth or Energy for the account, alongside the voting weight. None of this involves the account's Owner or Active permission keys.
Why the distinction matters
Someone researching TRON security sometimes conflates staking-related concepts with account control. They're unrelated: an account can have a completely standard, unmodified Owner/Active permission structure regardless of how much TRX it has staked or how it voted, and vice versa.
